Insurance companies in general, but particularly in New Jersey and the Tri-State area are using ICANL and ICAEL accredited nuclear and echo laboratories to set the standards for quality and competency in performing and reporting nuclear studies and echocardiograms. An accredited lab is one which adheres to certain essentials and standards set forth by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) and the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE).
Fraser Enterprises, LLC provides consultative services to assist your facility to become an accredited nuclear or echo lab. A project manager will be working with your physicians and staff to develop your lab as one of the few accredited nuclear and/or echo labs in the tri-state area.
It is estimated that this accreditation application process takes about 100 hours depending upon how many doctors and technologists are involved. Perhaps at this time your practice may consider implementing the accreditation process. A certificate of accreditation has several tangible benefits; one of these is a higher reimbursement rate.
Also, remember accredited labs must reapply for reaccredidation after three years. Fraser Enterprises, LLC provides assistance for that as well.
